Kielder Observatory Annual Pass Calendar Competition – Terms & Conditions
Kielder Observatory reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions, or to cancel or amend the competition, if circumstances beyond our control make this unavoidable.
Eligibility
Entry to the competition is automatic with the purchase of a uniquely numbered Kielder Observatory calendar for 2026.
Free entry is also available by sending your name, postal address, and contact details in a letter to: Kielder Observatory Calendar Competition, The Beacon, Beaufront Park, Hexham, NE46 4TU Letters must arrive no later than 31 January 2026.
The competition is open to UK residents aged 18 or over. Employees, contractors, and volunteers of Kielder Observatory, and their immediate families, are not eligible to enter.
How to Win
Each purchased calendar is printed with a unique number. Free entries will be assigned a unique number upon receipt.
The winning number will be announced via Kielder Observatory’s official social media channels and newsletter on or after 31 January 2026.
The holder of the winning number must contact Kielder Observatory within 14 days of the announcement to claim the prize.
If no claim is made within 14 days, a new draw will be conducted. This process will be repeated up to three (3) times. If the prize remains unclaimed, it will be offered via an alternative competition.
Verification
In the event more than one person comes forward with the winning number, you may be asked to mail your original calendar to Kielder Observatory for verification.
Evidence of ownership of the winning calendar (or assigned free entry number) will be required to redeem the prize.
The Prize
The prize is an Annual Pass to Kielder Observatory for one named individual.
The pass is valid for 12 months from the date of redemption.
The pass entitles the holder to an unlimited number of visits during the validity period, subject to availability, for the named pass holder only.
Bookings must be made directly with the Kielder Observatory administration team.
ID may be required on arrival to confirm you are the named passholder.
Restrictions
The pass has no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money or other products/services.
The pass is non-transferable and must be used only by the named individual.
The pass may not be resold.

By entering the competition, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
