The purpose of this video is to introduce yourself in under 60 seconds! As science communicators, the initial introduction and rapport you build with the audience can stick throughout the whole talk. Parts of this job also require you to present on Teams, Zoom, Google Meets or another platform, which makes this way of introducing yourself great for us to see!

General guidance

  • Consider your background. A neutral, tidy setting, or plain white wall is best.
  • Lighting is important. We recommend recording during the daytime for natural lighting.
  • Dress code: Dress as you find most appropriate.
  • Speak clearly and smile. First impressions count!
