Welcome to this introduction to astronomy course. Within this course you will be discovering the different types of ways to look at the night sky. With an introduction to the history of astronomy and how that influenced the future of observations and discovery. Finally different objects we can target and what we can do to find them.
Throughout this course, you will gain practical star gazing skills, learn how to read star maps and find objects in the sky using methods such as star hopping. You will also learn about how significant figures in history have helped us build an understand of both how to observe objects, and understand more about their characteristics. You will also learn about the different types of equipment used for star gazing, and the best things you can use at home to kick start your stargazing adventures.
You’ll take part in some practical activities along the way, and some challenges aimed to help you learn.
